Since I started playing on my current cello, a Giuseppe Quagliano finished in March of 2024, I always felt that the bow I previously owned, a silver mounted Blaise Emmelin, didn't manage to get all the potential out of the instrument. The bow is slightly heavy at the tip and has a too precise and slightly narrow sound. While trying bows in the workshop of Christian Jünemann last summer, I came across this Rudolf Dotschkeil gold mounted bow and I immediately loved it. It has the perfect balance, flexibility- stiffness ratio and it also brings out all the warmth, depth and grain from my cello, while still keeping the sound pure and focused.

I have already played on the bow for more than six months, and I already see how the bow helped me have a warmer and rounder sound, while having much less tension in my right hand while playing.
