Piano
I do not know how to express the gratitude I feel for the help that I have received so I can purchase this Yamaha piano. During my years in the conservatory, I studied on the grand pianos that were available for us, but since I finished, I have been using the electrical piano that I had in my room. To be honest, I thought it would be just fine but after a while, every time I had the scarce opportunity to play on an acoustic piano, I really felt that I missed the warm touch and sound of an acoustic instrument. I’ve been playing the piano since I can remember and at the end of my studies, I was quite burnt out. After my master’s I could not have thought that I would be longing to have a nice piano. But here we are.
The piano is a Yamaha UX1 from the year 1989. He is a bit older than me already, but the hammers and the keys seem to be in very good condition, and I cannot wait to welcome him into my home. I live in a shared apartment, so I was a bit concerned about making too much noise, that is why I decided to upgrade him with a silent system that allows me to use my headphones as well. This added system is also nice because it lets me keep the functionality of the middle pedal which gives a sweet and intimate sonority which I like. I am working on a new interdisciplinary project now, and the mechanics of an electrical piano would not allow me to study the repertoire properly. It is going to be so helpful to be able to study and rehearse comfortably at home!
