Viool
With the generous support of Stichting Eigen Muziekinstrument,I have been able to acquire a beautiful German violin from Mittenwald, dating back to the second half of the 19th century, as well as a French bow from the workshop of Morizot frères. This new instrument and bow have opened up a world of possibilities for my musical development. Prior to receiving this grant, I was playing on ahumble violin and bow that, while serviceable, did not fully capture the nuances and subtleties I sought to express in my playing.
My new instrument and bow, however, have provided me with a level of resonance, projection, responsiveness, and control that I had previously wished for. The connection I feel to this historical instrumentand its deep butrich sound, combined with the precision and responsiveness of my new bow,has given me a greater appreciation for the artistry and craftsmanship of the violin and bow making. I am beyondgrateful to SEM forsupportingme inmy musical path. This new instrument and bow are more than just tools; they are catalysts for growth and sources of endless inspiration.
