Saxofoon

I have been playing the alto saxophone for many years, but I have always felt that the tenor saxophone is truly my voice. During my third year of studying at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, I had the opportunity to borrow a tenor saxophone from the school. From the very first moment I played it, I realized that I wanted to develop myself as a tenor player.

Every musician knows how important it is to build a deep connection with their instrument and to spend consistent time with it. Unfortunately, for the past three years, this has not been possible for me, as I always had to borrow an instrument. This made it difficult to fully commit and grow in the way I envisioned. Recently, I visited a shop and tried many different saxophones. Then I found the one that spoke to me the most. It felt like meeting someone I had never seen before, yet somehow already knew deeply. The instrument is a Selmer Mark VI, a model widely respected in the jazz saxophone community as one of the best ever produced. Playing this horn feels natural and effortless; it responds to my input immediately and with great sensitivity.

Thanks to the SEM Foundation, I will be able to purchase not only my first personal instrument, but also a professional-level saxophone that will serve me for many years. With it, I will be able to fully express myself and share music with others at the highest level possible.
