With the generous help of the Stichting Eigen Muziekinstrument I am now able to purchase this wonderful new instrument built in 2022 by the incredible luthier Theo Marks. As soon as I first tried it, I felt an incredible connection to this violin, like it was giving a new voice to my music, that I felt I couldn’t really transmit before with my old instrument. It really felt like an opening of new horizons with so many possibilities for different sounds and colours. While I felt a little stuck and limited by my previous instrument, with this one it’s truly a new experience also due to its great playability, as everything feels so much easier, accessible and effortless.

By playing with such a high quality instrument I am also now more confident to start doing orchestral auditions as these demand a great sounding violin and it will be an invaluable tool for the near future when I really start delving into the more professional life of music making. Having the opportunity to own such an instrument will really allow me to expand my musical and technical horizons more and more every day. Once again, I would like to thank the SEM for all the financial support to me and all musicians, for giving the opportunity to have access to such magical instruments.
