With the help of Stichting Eigen Muziekinstrument I manage to purchase an english horn. This instrument helps me in the creation of my own personal musical projects widening the sound, timber and range possibilities. My goal is to take the oboe and the english horn out of the "orchestral role" experimenting through improvisation, folk and traditional music and the use of live electronic music. As a singer myself, I see how the english horn tone and register are really close to the human voice which is a really inspiring element for me. The development of my own voice with the instrument and being able to “sing” with it within improvised and folk-inspired music is another of my purposes. Thanks to SEM I had the chance to perform one of my pieces with my new instrument. At the same time, it is giving me the chance to get job opportunities in ensembles and orchestras not only as an oboist but also as an english horn player. Currently, the support of SEM is essential for the development of my professional career.
