I am very happy to share my experience gained by applying to Stichting Eigen Muziekinstrument – a foundation that helped me to raise needed funds to acquire a new flute.
In the course of my studies I have started to increasingly feel the limitations of my old flute. It became obvious to me as well as to my professors that a new instrument would be necessary for the continuation of my further professional development. A better instrument was needed to establish a solid flute playing basis as well as to share my musical ideas with an audience.
However, a high quality flute was not something I could afford on my own. Luckily I heard about Stichting Eigen Muziekinstrument and with the help from this foundation I was able to acquire a new flute. My new instrument has got a precisely calibrated scale, excellent mechanics, handmade body and headjoint. It allows me to discover new freedoms and colours of playing, which I haven’t had before. Moreover, it makes it possible to do both: to speak and to be heard, which is one of the greatest gifts a musician can receive from his or her instrument. From now my daily practice allows me to get closer and closer to my musical ideas and goals.
I am mostly grateful to Stichting Eigen Muziekinstrument and personally to Mrs. Aleid van Beuningen for sincere understanding and help; for giving me a possibility to make further steps in my professional development. I wish you a lot of success in this great mission!
